How to build a Mekanism Fusion Reactor in Minecraft
Mekanism Fusion Reactor is a best way to generate huge energy in a short time. Also, it only comsumed a little bit resources because the famous equation, Mass–energy equivalence created by Albert Einstein.
Thermal Evaporation Plants
First, we need two Thermal Evaporation Plants, one aims to transform water into Brine and the other one aims to produce Lithium from Brine. A Thermal Evaporation Plant is constructed with 4 blocks wide, 4 blocks deep, and 18 blocks high. Moreover, to make a Thermal Evaporation Plant functional, we need a Thermal Evaporation Controller, two Thermal Evaporation Valves, and 4 Advanced Solar Generators. Open the gui of Thermal Evaporation Controller, check whether the first line is "Formed" or not. After it formed, it will like the figure below.
At this time, we can pour water into our first Thermal Evaporation Plant. Evaporating water required heat that is the reason why we need Advanced Solar Generator. If the place you builded is without sunlight, replace solar generator with Resistive Heater. Giving energy to Resistive Heater, it gives you heat. Using Thermodynamic Conductor is a way to conduct heat to Thermal Evaporation Plant.
The second Thermal Evaporation Plant is same as first one.
Produce Tritium
Next, we need to produce Tritium which is a vital fuel of fusion reactor. Without Tritium, fusion reactor cannot keep running. Because of the different efficiency of machine, we need 3 Rotary Condensentrators. Their main mission is converting the liquid state of Lithium into gas state, which is the ingredient of next stage.
After we got the gas state of Lithium, we should send it into Solar Neutron Activators, which required sunlight, to transform Lithium into Tritium. To keep running whole night, I recommend setting up 8 Solar Neutron Activators. In addition, to avoid accidents, I also placed an Ultimate Gas Tank to store more Tritium. It can be regarded as a buffer.
Because the whole facilities were set up in Skyfactory 4, I used Dense Infinite Water Source instead of pumping water.
Produce Deuterium
Deuterium is an another required fuel of fusion reactor. It can be produced from electrolyzing heavy water by Electrolytic Seperator, which only need one. Heavy water is made from pumping normal water with Electric Pump installed a filter upgrade. Inject heavy water into the Electrolytic Seperator by any fluiducts and extract Deuterium by pressurized tubes. I also recommend store Deuterium in any gas tank before injecting into reactor, which avoided lack of fuel and caused reactor shutdown.
Remember the oxygen in Electrolytic Seperator should be dumped, or Electrolytic Seperator will terminate the procedure after oxygen full.
Construct Reactor and Build up Laser
The oueline of reactor should be same as this wiki mentioned. Reactor Glasses are optional. A Laser Focus Matrix, a Reactor Controller, and two Reactor Ports are required, and they can be placed anywhere except controller. Futhermore, Laser Focus Matrix is the position that make laser shoot in and ignite the fusion reactor, so make sure Laser Amplifier targets on Laser Focus Matrix.
Before activating it, inject Tritium and Deuterium into fusion reactor through its valve directly. Then, inject energy into Laser Amplifier and it will emit laser. Set redstone control to high, which can control whether Laser Amplifier enabled or not. To ignite reactor, Laser Amplifier needs to store more than 1 GJ and emits at once. Therefore, make a laser array, put a lever on the Laser Amplifier nearest Laser Focus Matrix, wait for them charging, and activate it!
Tips:
- There is a side laser emitted on Laser Amplifier. Make sure all Laser Amplifier are pointed to the most important one that attached with a lever.
- Laser can only accept energy at its bottom.
Activate Fusion Reactor
After the most important Laser Amplifier store enough energy (more than 1 GJ), push down that lever and you will get an activated fusion reactor.
